Senior Structural Engineer

An established engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join their growing Melbourne team. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys technical design, client interaction, and leading project delivery from concept through to construction.

What You’ll Work On

You will deliver structural design and consultancy services across a diverse portfolio, including:

• Base-build reinforced concrete structures up to 22 levels
• PT slab design for buildings up to 45 storeys
• Basements (piles, capping beams, shotcrete walls, anchors, struts) up to 5 levels
• Steel-framed buildings and residential timber/lightweight structures
• Independent certification of major structures, including buildings up to 80 levels and data centres
• Temporary works, including major infrastructure projects (e.g., tunnels, cultural precincts)

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, cost-effective structural engineering design
• Lead and coordinate with internal engineers, drafters and external stakeholders
• Develop design concepts, detailed analysis and documentation
• Conduct site inspections and liaise with authorities for approvals
• Support fee proposals, tender submissions, and client relationship management
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers
• Ensure compliance with standards, quality systems and project timelines
• Preference given to engineers with CPEng / professional registration to support certification projects.
• Key Software: ETABS, Structural Toolkit, Strand7, SpaceGass, CheckWind / CheckSteel, Wallap
• Preference for registration/CPeng to assist in certification projects
