Role Focus We are seeking an experienced Credit Risk Data Scientist / Modeller to join a high-impact team delivering end-to-end credit risk solutions. The successful candidate will work on credit risk models, supporting risk frameworks and providing actionable insights to internal and external stakeholders.
This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working on complex credit risk projects, developing models from data exploration through deployment and monitoring, while ensuring robust governance and regulatory compliance.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain credit risk scorecard models (application, behavioural, collections).
- Build and validate models using probability of default
- Execute end-to-end model development: feature engineering, model build, validation, performance monitoring, and portfolio reporting.
- Ensure data and model governance compliance, working with internal and external stakeholders including risk, operations, regulators, and bureaus.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on model design, monitoring, and optimisation.
- Python: XGBoost, scikit-learn, pandas, numpy
- SQL: Advanced querying and data manipulation
- AWS or GCP understanding a plus!
- Strong understanding of credit risk frameworks and regulatory requirements
- Experience with model validation, monitoring, and reporting frameworks
- 5–8+ years’ experience in credit risk modelling or analytics within banking, financial services
- Exposure to Utilities or Telco is also condisered
- Comfortable engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Able to manage multiple concurrent projects and deliver high-quality outputs
