The Role
As a Site Manager with strong commercial experience, you’ll be responsible for day-to-day delivery of projects in the health and education sector. These sites demand a high level of planning, safety focus, and stakeholder coordination, particularly when working within live operating environments like hospitals or schools.
You will be responsible for:
• Leading all site-based activities, including subcontractor coordination and scheduling
• Implementing and managing site safety plans and compliance
• Overseeing construction programming and sequencing of trades
• Communicating with consultants, engineers, and client-side representatives
• Managing site documentation, reporting, and daily progress tracking
• Identifying and resolving construction challenges to maintain program momentum
This role is ideal for a Site Manager who enjoys the technical challenge of complex institutional builds and can lead confidently from the front.
The Builder
Located close to Melbourne's CBD, this well-known, established new build and refurb company specialises in medium sized projects for new builds, commercial fit-outs, and building renovation, often within the $5-$35M range but occasionally pricing projects to the value of $35M, and with aspirations to continue growing their average project value and establish themselves as a larger tier builder.
They’ve been working across a range of sectors, including:
- Health/Medical
- Education
- Hospitality
- Commercial buildings
- Government & institutional
Are you suitable?
This role is best suited to a seasoned Site Manager with a strong background in live-site delivery within health, education, or institutional settings. You’ll need to bring strong planning and communication skills, with the ability to manage detailed builds in active environments.
You’re likely to tick the following boxes:
• 10+ years' experience as a Site Manager on commercial builds
• Proven delivery of health, education, or similar institutional projects
• Comfortable managing live environments with safety and stakeholder sensitivity
• Exposure to structured Tier 1 or Tier 2 processes and systems
• Technical understanding of complex sequencing and services integration
• Tertiary qualifications or trade background highly regarded
