Our school provides “Wellbeing for Learning and Learning for Wellbeing,” supported by our trauma-informed HOPE (Healing Oriented Program of Education) model.
We support students who face significant barriers to traditional education, offering a safe, respectful, and engaging environment that integrates academic learning with wellbeing and life skills. Through VPC (Victorian Pathways Certificate), VM (VCE Vocational Major), and VETiS (Vocational Education and Training in Schools), we help our students thrive, and we are growing.
Position Purpose (abridged; full details in Job Description)
The Community Liaison Officer plays a vital role in strengthening connections between Hester Hornbrook Academy, families, carers, and the wider community. The role exists to support student engagement and wellbeing by fostering inclusive, trusting relationships — particularly with families from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds and those experiencing complex life circumstances.
Through culturally responsive communication, advocacy, and partnership-building, the CLO helps ensure that every family feels welcome, informed, and empowered to actively participate in their young person’s education. This role directly contributes to Hester Hornbrook’s commitment to trauma-informed, healing-oriented, and inclusive education.
