The Role

You will manage the entire development lifecycle of utility-scale renewable energy assets, coordinating land access, environmental approvals, technical studies, commercial negotiations and grid connection applications. This role requires expert stakeholder engagement, strong commercial judgement, and the ability to lead multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and lead development of solar, BESS, and hybrid projects from feasibility through to commissioning
• Manage complex stakeholder relationships including landowners, councils, regulators and technical partners
• Coordinate environmental and planning approvals ensuring compliance and risk mitigation
• Lead grid connection processes including NSP and AEMO liaison, application submissions, and technical reviews
• Manage EPC and consultant engagements through procurement and early construction phases
• Prepare and monitor project schedules, budgets, and risk registers with a focus on delivery milestones
• Lead internal reporting and communication with investment and senior leadership teams
• Oversee project handover processes into construction and operational teams

Skills and Experience

• Minimum 6 years’ renewable energy project development experience with demonstrated success delivering to commissioning
• Proven expertise in NEM grid connection procedures, planning and environmental approvals in Victoria or nationally
• Strong understanding of solar PV and battery energy storage technology and project delivery challenges
• Excellent project management and coordination skills with ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects
• Effective communicator with stakeholder management experience across landowners, councils and contractors
• Commercially astute with ability to identify risks and deliver solutions in complex development environments
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, project management, environmental science, or similar

Technical Skills & Tools

• Proficient in project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project or equivalent
• Experience using GIS tools for site and land access analysis
• Familiarity with AEMO systems and grid connection portals
• Competence with risk management and reporting tools
• Ability to interpret and review technical design documentation and feasibility studies
• Prior experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and consultants
