An Australian-owned civil construction company, this Melbourne based contractor pride themselves on relationships and the delivery of tailored project solutions to the Construction industry. With a number of projects already under construction across Melbourne's South-East they are just about to commence construction on a new wave of awarded $5m - $10m projects. As a Site/Project Engineer you will be responsible for the delivery of civil projects that include; earthworks, roads, drainage, services, concrete and more.
Role
The Site/Project Engineer is a key role for the contractor and provides high quality engineering services, contract management and project programming to the project teams. Responsibilities include;
- Provide technical assistance to supervisory personnel.
- Interpret engineering documents and drawings for field personnel.
- Prepare reports on progress, manpower and costs and coordinate the work scheduling and procurement.
- Monitor and coordinate the preparation maintenance and change of construction schedules, methods, manning charts and equipment requirements. Advise on actions to be taken to prevent or improve undesirable trends in progress.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers and workforce.
- Ensure the currency and accuracy of information for schedules and reports, provide timely submission of reports and project schedules.
- Liaise with project stakeholders, suppliers and service providers.
To be considered for this role you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in engineering
- Specialist experience in project engineering and a working knowledge of project management
- Competent in planning and organising work schedules and a demonstrated ability to deliver to timelines
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Site Engineer on Civil Projects
- Demonstrated experience in effective supervision, monitoring of sub-contractors and other trades.
