The team
ASIC's Enforcement and Compliance Group (ECG) is responsible for the conduct of ASIC's initial inquiries, compliance and enforcement work across all sectors excluding markets. The ECG comprises Investigation and Enforcement Action, Enforcement Inquiries and Compliance, and Enforcement Services.
The role
As a Senior Manager in ECG, you will lead and manage team performance to achieve business plan objectives and to investigate matters, or support those investigations, through to successful completion by:
* Developing and implementing strategies and tactics to achieve agreed regulatory outcomes, in line with ASIC's strategic objectives, ECG business plan and stakeholder needs.
* Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and ASIC policy and procedures.
* Make key decisions and communicating outcomes to stakeholders.
* Ensuring matters are achieved within agreed timeframes; and driving enforcement outcomes.
* Providing strategic advice and guidance across teams pertaining to specific matters and/or functions.
* Leading and managing team members in accordance with applicable policies and guidelines, managing team performance and professional development, and actively encouraging the sharing of knowledge with the ECG Senior Management Team and across the wider team.
* Measuring and monitoring workflow and distributing, as required, timely and accurate management and progress reports to the Executive Team and the Commission
* Undertaking ongoing analysis of processes and procedures and recommending new strategies to improve workflow and quality
* Being an active participant of the ECG Leadership Team.
About you
A suitable candidate for this role will have:
* Experience managing a diversely skilled team including coaching for development, monitoring workflows, providing strategic direction and setting stretch targets to ensure outcomes are delivered.
* Senior experience in planning, conducting and managing complex regulatory activities such as high-profile investigations, litigation and compliance monitoring activities.
* Proven experience exercising sound judgement in the identification of relevant issues, selection of the most appropriate solution and its implementation, especially in a regulatory environment.
* Deep knowledge and skills in investigating crime, or supporting investigations, with exposure to financial services and/or credit investigations an advantage.
* Experience and skills in managing stakeholder and service delivery expectations, responding to complex enquiries and resolving issues as they arise.
