The Music program plays a vital role in their curriculum, and therefore are seeking a passionate and skilled Music Teacher to inspire and engage students from Prep to Year 6.
Position Overview
The Primary School Music Teacher will plan and deliver music lessons that foster musical skills, creativity, and appreciation across all year levels. This role involves leading classroom music lessons, preparing students for performances, and contributing to the broader cultural life of the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging music lessons aligned with the Victorian Curriculum for Primary Years (P–Year 6)
- Plan and lead school concerts, assemblies, and special events.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages participation from all students.
- Participate in school meetings, professional learning, and community events.
- Bachelor of Education (Primary) with a specialisation in Music or equivalent tertiary qualification in Music Education.
- Current VIT registration (Victorian Institute of Teaching).
- Proficiency in at least one musical instrument (piano, guitar, or similar) and vocal ability.
- Excellent classroom management, organisational, and communication skills.
- Passion for inspiring young learners and promoting a love of music.
