Description
Our Sustainability & Climate Change team is growing quickly. We are a passionate, courageous and creative team that brings leading thinking to every project, working on some of the biggest challenges facing society. We provide a full suite of services related to the delivery of bespoke climate change and resilience risk assessments/adaptation plans across a variety of sectors, sustainable outcomes for the built environment, and provide advisory services for a range of organisational sustainability needs, providing energy and greenhouse gas modelling and mitigation strategy services, and delivery.
What you will do:
- Undertake and contribute to climate risk assessments and preparation of climate adaptation strategies.
- Undertake and contribute to greenhouse gas emission calculations and decarbonisation assessments.
- Prepare and review sustainability and ESG related briefing materials, reporting and communications including data analysis and presentations.
- Contribute to sustainability ratings (Infrastructure Sustainability, GRESB, GreenStar or BCorp) or certifications for the built environment or organisations.
- Work with multi-disciplined teams across the business to provide sustainability and climate change advice.
- Provide internal commentary and advice on sustainability and climate change across various industry documents and reports.
- Contribute to client workshop facilitation and presentations.
- Provide a positive contribution to the culture of Nation Partners.
- Preparation of written proposals and costings in response to client requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of trends in ESG, sustainable development and climate change.
Skills And Experiences
We are looking for a qualified professional, ideally with a relevant degree or postgraduate qualification, who brings a strong alignment with our values. In an ideal world you will have a;
- Passion for influencing a better and more sustainable future.
- Degree or postgraduate qualifications with a climate change and/or sustainable development focus.
- One to five years professional experience in consulting, private sector or government.
- Understanding and/or experience of current climate risk and adaptation frameworks.
- Understanding and/or experience of greenhouse gas emissions modelling and decarbonisation frameworks.
- Understanding of climate disclosure requirements under the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards S2: Climate Disclosure.
- Ability to write at a professional level and demonstrated experience in preparing reports or documents at this level.
- Ability to understand complex technical requirements and to extract and translate key elements for external audiences.
- Ability to adapt and work effectively as part of multi-disciplinary units, both within Nation Partners and externally, as part of wider client delivery teams.
- Ability to self-manage and prioritise the delivery of multiple requirements to deadlines, ensuring a consistent level of quality even when under pressure.
- Knowledge and/or practical experience in strategic analysis, quantitative analysis or project management, applied in relation to sustainability and climate change.
- Strong verbal communication and presentation capabilities.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently using your professional judgment.
